I could tell you many stories..

Riverside, CA...was known at one time..as the capital of Oranges. In the early 1900's oranges were the color of money there. Somewhere along there...someone discovered the Blood orange. A wonderful tasting orange...but it didn't sell...because it looked odd..and the "meat" wasn't orange color. They took down those groves..and planted regular oranges.

I actually had a Blood Orange tree...when I lived there. Had...27 fruit tree's in my backyard..

You get a chance find a fresh Blood Orange..and taste it. They look funny...but they taste GREAT!!

Riverside? Sigh. I love southern California.
I don't live there but had several relatives, aunts, uncles and cousins, who lived there and we visited them every OTHER year.
