Your reply simple confirms to me that many Trump supporters simply believe what they WANT to believe, and ignore what they don't want to believe. Here's why I say that:

JG:"able to apply to return legally but that it could take years" NPS That's simply not consistent with Trump's own word 'expedite'.

JG "His choice of the word mandate is unfortunate." NPS It may be unfortunate, but that's what he said.

JG:"He is consistently committed to bringing back our manufacturing base" NPS He certainly SAYS that a lot, but he hasn't DONE it with his own badged products. Just a note here. I work for a company that exports millions of dollars of manufactured products to China, and we import none. When we go to china, we bring mementos to give to good customers. ALL our mementos are US made.

JG "Americans have forgotten how to negotiate" NPS No, Obama has chosen not to negotiate properly.

Thanks for your courteous reply. I am glad to learn of a company that is exporting to China. We need trading partners and bidirectional trading.

I do research Trump’s positions and have support for my analysis. In the end we each take some things on faith because of our Gestalt of the person.

The issues you addressed are not my on faith issues. I am not in agreement with Trump’s ethanol issues and there is some faith needed there. In my opinion his views on border security and our illegal immigrant population are the best mix of what can happen and what we want to happen that any candidate has developed.

Donald Trump on Friday made clear that he would repeal all of ObamaCare, including the individual mandate to buy insurance, after saying a day earlier that he liked the mandate.

“I was asked about healthcare by Anderson Cooper & have been consistent- I will repeal all of #ObamaCare, including the mandate, period.”
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 19, 2016

The question arose at a CNN town hall for GOP presidential candidates on Thursday when Trump said, “I like the mandate,” while also saying he would repeal ObamaCare, which he called a “disaster.”

Earlier on Friday, Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) criticized Trump for praising the mandate.

Trump tweeted Friday that he was referring to a “backstop” for people with pre-existing conditions when saying he liked the mandate, without elaborating on what that means. Trump says that people with pre-existing conditions will be able to get coverage under his plan, which is one of the most popular aspects of ObamaCare.

I was referring to a backstop for pre-existing conditions. I will eliminate the law, in its entirety, & replace it w/ something much better.

Trump has come under criticism from some Republicans for previously supporting single-payer healthcare, which is anathema to Republicans. But on Thursday night and again in his tweets on Friday, Trump said he is not proposing a single-payer system, instead putting forward some standard Republican ideas.

He said he favors health savings accounts, which provides some tax breaks on savings used for health expenses, as well as allowing health insurance to be sold across state lines.

He also said his plan will have “private plans,” which are a contrast to single-payer but are also already present on ObamaCare’s marketplaces.

I will replace it with private plans, health savings accounts, & allow purchasing across state lines. Maximum choice & freedom for consumer.
