Quite a few. Prior to Reagan, the GOP was still considered the party of the affluent (Rockefeller Republicans).
“Reagan Democrats” was a term used to describe essentially white voters who didn’t have a college education.
Today, that’s a large chunk of the party’s base...and it’s at war with the Rockefeller Republicans running the party.
You see that in Texas today. By the end of the 1980s, all of Democrat politicians who wanted to keep their seats switched to the Republican Party (including Rick Perry) because the “Reagan Democrats” were now Republican voters.
