I want to make sure that everyone is one the same page here....
If we go into the convention with Trump having 1100 delegates, Cruz having 800 delegates, Rubio having 300 delegates and the others having 200 delegates...How would it be considered “cheating” or “stealing” to give it to someone other than Trump? The rules were setup well in advance that if nobody reaches 1236 it goes to an open convention. Certainly, Trump’s primary success should be considered by the delegates when choosing their nominee but so too should his behavior on the campaign trail and everything else that goes with it.
As far as I know, the nomination process has NEVER been setup in a way that simply having a plurality of the delegates guarantees a candidate the nomination.
Are you Trump supporters suggesting that we change the rules at the last minute to prevent delegates from voting for anyone other than the candidate with the most delegates?
You people sound like the liberals who want to get rid of the Electoral College because sometimes election results don’t go the way they want.
Name somebody else who ANYBODY has voted for this year.
Sure, “it’s legal” for the Party insiders to name their chosen candidate from their chosen few insiders. Now, other than those 1260 Republican Party insiders who would vote in Cleveland, how many others nationally would vote for a designated Republican appointee?
You think ANYBODY would cross over and vote for a Republican appointed candidate?
Your logic of leaping to labelling something as liberal is totally nonsensical. It is no different than tossing out the 'racist' label whenever it suits you.
Here's a piece of knowledge for you: The Republican party changes the rules all the time - the Constitution doesn't change only its interpretation does. The Republican party changed the rules so that it takes eight states with a majority vote to get your name in nomination... and this was done solely to get to a brokered convention.
Trump could get there with the right number of delegates but not have eight states with a majority. Whatever the situation, believe me... Cruz will sellout his delegates to Romney, Ryan or whoever is not Trump. Believe it. A vote for Cruz at this point is a pure GOPe vote.
Except in this case GOP-e is not sitting idly by letting the chips fall where they may. They are affirmatively trying to sabotage some of the candidates prior to the convention.
No. I want the delegates to honor the vote totals in their district. They will once. I don’t know what will happen on the second tally, or third, etc.
In my opinion, if the leader isn’t the Establishment choice, that’s politics. They should give it to the the people’s choice.
