There will be a brokered convention regardless of what Trump gets. There is a saying, “you cannot cheat if it isn’t close.” 50+1 is not enough to keep the GOPe from dirty tricks. But 70+1 or higher makes it much more difficult.
Cruz is OK with me; as long as it is fairly done AND WITH NO SIDE DEALS. Same for Trump. However, in a brokered convention, they will push Dole/McCain/Romney/Bush/Rubio and tell us to hold our nose.
If that happens, it’ll be card burning in public. For starters.
I dislike Trump quite a bit; but no way can this be allowed to happen.
If he gets the most delegates and wins a required majority then he wins the nomination.
The peoples voices will be followed; otherwise this nation is gone for sure.
If you want to believe that "they" will "steal" it from Trump even if he has a majority of the delegates, I suppose I can't dissuade you.

No. I want the delegates to honor the vote totals in their district. They will once. I don’t know what will happen on the second tally, or third, etc.
In my opinion, if the leader isn’t the Establishment choice, that’s politics. They should give it to the the people’s choice.
1.) I think that you are incorrect in your understanding of the “magic 8” states. One needs a majority of the DELEGATES in 8 states. Cruz already has 3: Texas(102/155), Kansas (24/40) and Maine (12/23). Trump has a bunch and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is already at or over the magic 8 number. None of the other candidates have any and certainly won’t get 8. Trump and Cruz will be the only two on the first ballot. The only question now will be if either of them reaches the 1236 mark.
Someone can correct me if I am wrong in my understanding here.
2.) Are you suggesting that the rules be changed at the last minute to protect Trump because he only won a plurality of the votes? It seems that you are accusing the GOPe of changing rules to get the results they want but in fact that is exactly what you are advocating. You want to force Rubio and Kasich and Carson delegates to vote for your guy even though they may not want to and under the current rules, don’t have to.
I think that changing the rules at the last minute to favor or rule out any particular candidate is cheating and I wouldn’t support it.
If Trump gets the “magic 8” requirement and if he gets 1236 delegates, I will be furious if it is taken away from him through last minute shenanigans. On the other hand, if last minute changes are made to force the delegates to vote for the plurality winner, then I will be equally outraged.
I hope you aren’t right. I trust Cruz, or Trump, to stand against the Establishment.
Ann Coulter wrote an article on McCarthy years ago, I think even a book, where she proved everything McCarthy said was right. We WERE being infiltrated by communists, they WERE trying to take over the government, and they succeeded! And these same communists succeeded in making McCarthy out to be the bad guy whereas today if people hear the term “McCarthyism” they immediately think of a witch hunt. But it wasn’t a witch hunt. It was a legitimate act to defend the country only it failed. Our enemies succeeded in taking over our government whereas today Democrats almost always run a communist for office. Think about that, almost ALL of them are communists. Look at the 2 current Presidential candidates: Both of them are communists. Look at the Mayor of our financial capital New York city, Bill De Blasio: He is a hardcore blatant communist who doesn’t even bother to disguise it. And now these same communists have infiltrated the Republican party!
But if the other 65% was split three ways, neither of the three should be considered. Enter Romney, right?

Another book you might find very interesting is one by Gary Allen called " None Dare call it Conspiracy".. You might call it the true bible for the conspiracy nut... He wrote it in 1971 (I think) but there is an updated version...

I know. Much of it is a venting exercise, however, I still feel as if I must try.
When the IRS targeting broke, I had my Congressman and Senators on speed dial, especially my Rep., who sat on the committee. I was apoplectic. I watched the CSPAN hearings the entire time. My Congressman’s chair sat empty during those.
He is no longer in office (decided not to run again). Either way he is gone. 1 down, ???? to go.
