Mrs. Mitch McConnell sits on the board of Fox right next to the Murdochs.

Phone rings at Rush Limbaugh’s office.

Voice: Mr. Limbaugh, Chris Wallace wants to speak with you.

Rush: Sure, put him on.

The men exchange pleasantries.

Chris: Rush, I just had a conversation with Roger and Mr. Murdoch and Roger wants you to appear on my show Sunday.

Rush: Oh?

Chris: Well, as you have heard, we are cutting loose from Rubio. Mr. Murdoch has decided that Fox should get behind Ted now. We think his votes for TPA and the Corker bill reveal him to be a team player. Mr. Murdoch appreciates the fact that you hide those votes from your listeners.

Also, Mr. Murdoch wants to extend his warmest regards to you and his appreciation for the way you took him into your confidence at the private meeting, and, uh, Mr. Murdoch would like to keep the off-the-record conversation private, and, uh…

Rush: Sure, be glad to help you out.

Chris: Well, Rush, you will have about eight minutes and it would be nice if you could prepare some intense 10 seconds or so Cruz promotion spots, about three of them, you know, what you do constantly on your show almost everyday. Ted will be able to incorporate them into ads that he can blanket Florida and the nation with, and it will help him out.

We’ll need one where you mention Reagan and Cruz together, one where you mention Abe Lincoln and Cruz together, and one where you state how much he is hated by us, uh, the establishment.

Rush: Sure, Chris, be sure to tell Mr. Murdoch that I will alert my millions of listeners often during the next two days about my appearance.

When they booked Rush they probably thought Rubio would have won 5 states by now and that Rush not Marcobot could present Rubio’s case better than Rubiot.

Rush is one of the few who can critic Trump and not seem like a paid shill or bimbo.

Thanks, Alas Babylon.

Haven’t been here in years. Interesting to find I’m still being pinged. Eight years is a long time and a lot has changed around here.

Anyway, these are interesting times, so here I am. And it’s a good thing too. I gave up television five years ago. This thread may help to keep me updated on the latest dishonest media memes.

Looking forward to Rush interview, something he rarely does – willingly walk into the belly of the beast. Should be fun.

Thanks again.

Romney and Lindsey on Meet the Press. I’m on pins and needles. How do this guys always always manage to book the rising stars, the people we just can’t wait to hear from?

Give me a break NBC. I want to hear from Cruz and Trump. Skip the rest and stop wasting our time.

Better?

Reagan has words for the #NeverTrump Purity Choir in the Conservative Media. This idea that if they just keep shouting they will get a 100%er elected to do everything they want is a fools notion.

Reagan:

“A man 75-80% on my side is a valuable friend and ally, not my enemy:

I know this falls on deaf ears with 100%ers but the fact remains, We are a Constitutional Republic that rests on the notion that the people’s Representatives in Government know how to compromise and negotiate.

This feeling that Cruz will ride into DC and dictate the Conservative Media's 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking. What is more probably is Cruz would be a GOP Carter.

Carter was the same sort of religious political puritan who went to DC and assumed he would dictate his political dogmas to everyone there. The record shows how badly that idea failed.

“Conservative” politicians talk a good game and then go to DC and accomplish nothing. After 30 years of fail, it is time to try another solution. The winning candidate is “GASP” going to have to cut DEALS! And some times those deals require..compromise!!!

Another fail point for the “Principled Conservatives” is they think only as far as the election. Then once they win their purity candidates go to DC and fail against the inertia of the DC/Media political machine. 1994-2000-2010-2014 are all example of where this “Next election” mindset has failed.

Trump is merely the 1st wave of a multi wave assault. Cruz might do for a follow up wave, he is not a 1st wave candidate.Without Trump to lead the way, the Cruz boat would of either been ignored because it was irrelevant, or been shelled into oblivion by the 10s of millions of GOPE attack ads.

The 1st wave job in any assault is to shatter the defenses and open the road for the follow up waves. No matter how flawed you think the vessel is, Trump is the best 1st wave political assault team we have had to hand in my lifetime.

We need to use Trump for all he is worth to shatter the corrupt, “my party right or wrong” mindset that grips vast swaths of the electorate. Break that inertia, get the people thinking outside the party label box and real change is possible. Do not an we slide into a stagnate European style decline that will not end in my lifetime. Cruz shares that agenda point but is not as well equipped by background and media following to achieve that break through as Trump

We either win this now or we have little chance of ever doing it again politically. Once we win we must relentlessly stay on the attack election wave after election wave until we are dead.

I am really not willing to leave this fight to my kids and grand-kids. We have let the ship of state drift since Reagan in the hands of the “smart people”. We failed and most redeem that failure.

This is our generation’s “go” time

I have a question/speculation that is REALLY bugging me. Someone please talk me back from the edge....

I keep having this nagging thought, that I’ve had for a while...

I think that the reason the Democrat party seems so laid back about Hillary running is because they absolutely have a back up plan. If they go to indict and convict her (which I really don’t think would ever happen), but I totally could see Obama pardoning her as a trade she’ll step out of the race. Then they’ll replace her with a dark horse unknown suave, very Presidential-esque minority, who swings moderate in the public eye, but is way more leftist at heart. They already have that guy...or 2 of them.... the Castro twins from San Antonio. Think about it. Right now, Trump could probably beat Hillary or it would at least be really close. I mean even with his bombastic ways, he looks a lot more statesman like up next to her with her screeching and the felony looming..... so why aren’t the Democrats concerned? I think it’s because they have an ace up their sleeve. Pit Trump next to one of castro twins, and you have problems. They are young, handsome, moderate, presidential-like, and from TEXAS. So even if Trump took NY, Castro would an equal chance of taking Texas at least. PLUS, the whole Dem party would get excited about the first HISPANIC president, not much time to vet him, because they’ll drop him on us at the last minute and he will have avoided the primary process....

Do I need my tin foil hat to justify this paranoia? Please say yes....

or is this a real thing that could happen?

Faux News Sunday (previous “FOX ‘news’”):

Chris Wallace interviews Rush Limbaugh and the
self-serving, 2012-loser, pro-Obama pro-RomneyCARE,
carpetbagger Willard “Mitt” Romney.

On Romney’s jealous-driven stupid attack on Mr. Trump
this week:
Rush: Romney’s “dad did the same thing”.

On Trump:
Rush: “Trump has put together a coalition” which the GOP
has purported it needed to win.

Wallace ignores Rush:
Wallace: “Conservatives say the Republican party is in danger ..”
Rush: “They are not conservatives. They are being run by their donors.”
“There is a bigger upside to Trump (he supports Cruz).”
“Its serious this time.”
Congress has no record fixing anything.”

Wallace does not like the clarity and elects to
interrupt to bring up the irrelevant (except to him and Romney) Rubio.
Rush: He (Rubio) is getting no traction, anywhere.

Wallace: What happens in a brokered convention?
Rush: “Romney has telegraphed that they will stop Trump
at the convention.” (They are having a Rules meeting
upcoming before the convention to change the Rules).

At the end, Wallace ignores his sudden changes of
subject (eg. Rubio) and congratulates himself
for “not interrupting”.

Chris Wallace finally gets his journalistic ‘wet dream’,
an interview of his fantasy partner ‘running’ for the Presidency.

Chris Wallace: Introducing the man he calls
“Governor” and says that Romney gave a “brutal attack”.
Romney appears and is orange colored as he mimics Trump.
Romney: “Trump will bring a “more dangerous world”.”
No mention of ISIS, Benghazi, Libya, Syria, etc.
by the orange saboteur.

Chris Wallace takes time to defend Romney,
then hands the stage to Romney who repeats the same
old arguments that were shown to be wrong and
refuted by Judge Jeanine (who ripped Romney silly)
and others.

Romney takes a swipe at Cruz that he “cannot be controlled”.

Romney describes why he took this strange bizarre turn
of attacks this week, revealing that he was talking to himself
or others and saying “someone has to do something”.

Romney, smugly, congratulates himself for taking
down Trump, saying that Trump lost yesterday, and that
Trump is “not the real deal”.
Romney goes on and on against Trump.
Vile.
Disgusting.
Reprehensible.

Romney gloats that he (thinks he) is taking down Mr. Trump.

Romney goes on, supported by Wallace, with the
same strawman arguments which are out of context, disproven,
and shown to also exist for Romney.

Romney: Trump “doesn’t represent the Republican party”.
and smiles. He does.
Not missing the moment, Wallace reminds Romney
that he can run. Romney avoids it every which way.

Romney: If someone is chosen by the “country”
he should be the nominee (he ironically ignores his own
hatred of Mr. Trump in the face of the country CHOOSING
Mr. Trump).

On the other candidates agreeing to support the winner.
Romney: Will not make the pledge, unlike the other
GOP candidates at the last debate.
Revealing Romney stood firm.
Willard Romney: “I will find someone else
or write in (my own) name ..”

In summary, Romney was given an extraordinary amount of time
and none (not one) of his lies were addressed by Wallace.
Equal time should have been given to Mr. Trump, but this
is Faux Sunday “News”.

Rush had a good point about Cruz’s potential to attract 5 million conservative voters that sat out 2012. My thinking is that Trump is now and will attract millions of voters that earn less than $50k per year. We haven’t had a candidate in years that won the under $50k vote. I do think that either Trump or Cruz can beat Hillary. She will max out at about 45%.
