Ted Cruz takes early lead in Kansas Republican caucus
The Week ^ | March 5, 2016

Posted on 03/05/2016 12:49:39 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

In the Kansas Republican caucus, very early returns have Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in the lead. With 3 percent of the results in, Cruz has 53 percent of the vote, followed by Donald Trump with 21 percent, John Kasich with 15 percent, and Marco Rubio with 10 percent. The Kansas Republican Party released a statement earlier Saturday, saying turnout across the state was "incredible," with some locations reporting "four of five" times the number of voters who came out in 2012. Republicans are also caucusing today in Kentucky and Maine, and holding a primary in Louisiana.

[I wonder how Cruz operatives and the GOPe are manipulating this one?]

It all comes down to the voter turnout. If CRUZ supportors turn out, he gets it. If TRUMP supporters turn out, he gets it.

Yes, because that’s the only way to beat Trump the Great.

Unbelieable turnout is only due to Trump. Trump should eek this out. The most difficult state for Trump is Kansas. These caucus’ suck anyway. I would that have all primaries.

Appealing to mainline and conservative voters, that’s how.

[Unbelieable turnout is only due to Trump].

TRUMP could have a million voter turn out, but in the end it’s the delegate count that will make him the GOP POTUS candidate.

Cruz supporters are good people that lie to themselves. Cruz will get stomped by any Democrat because he is not tough enough to withstand the MSM onslaught. You will fail.

“Eek” is how most voters react to Trump. Fully expecting Cruz to “eke” this one out, though.

Turnout is most definitely not up only because of Trump. Do you remember Iowa?

I predicted a Kansas victory for Cruz yesterday. Hope this holds up.

[You will fail]

If CRUZ is fortunate enough to win the GOP candidacy, I hope every freedom loving American will vote for him. If not, we will all fail.

Almost everyone in our eastern (Johnson County) voting site seemed to be poised to vote Cruz - then something highly questionable happened. Rick Santorum walked up and down the line, inside the school, championing Marco!

We told Santorum he was "allowed" to be in the "candidate or supporter room" but not out in the voting lines shaking hands along the, long lines asking voters to vote for Marco! He responded by stating he "was saving voters time to come into the room and hear his presentation!"

Could find no official except one "volunteer" handing out literature and wearing Rubio stickers!

Shame on election officials for permitting such illegal stuff, no matter how long those lines were?

Almost no votes in from Wichita, Topeka, Lawrence, or KCK. Turnout will be an all time high.
