Ted Cruz takes early lead in Kansas Republican caucus
The Week ^ | March 5, 2016

Posted on 03/05/2016 12:49:39 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

In the Kansas Republican caucus, very early returns have Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in the lead. With 3 percent of the results in, Cruz has 53 percent of the vote, followed by Donald Trump with 21 percent, John Kasich with 15 percent, and Marco Rubio with 10 percent. The Kansas Republican Party released a statement earlier Saturday, saying turnout across the state was "incredible," with some locations reporting "four of five" times the number of voters who came out in 2012. Republicans are also caucusing today in Kentucky and Maine, and holding a primary in Louisiana.

It is my opinion that the GOPe hates cruz... didn’t they spend a lot of time blaming him for the supposed backlash from the government shut down?

Why do you think Trump ditched CPAC in favor of storming into Kansas?

If Trump could win in a "closed primary or caucus" that would mean bragging rights to saying the GOP demands Trump for Primary Winner!

Guess some Midwesterners (Iowa and now Kansas) want not Trump at all! Even left-leaning Minnesota reject Trump!

Neither does far NW Alaska and maybe far NE Maine reject Trump and his temperamental, petulant and profane President!

Huck won the state in 2008 and Santorum took it in 2012.

20% of district 3 reporting and Cruz is beating Trump 50-28 in district 3.

Now the only question is whether Cruz can stay over 50% overall.

Must hurt Trump’s ego to skip CPAC to campaign in Kansas and still get shellacked.

The might “hate” him, but they like him more over Trump any day of the week

So your just going to list all the states Trump lost instead of listing all he’s won, or his delegate count. Whatever.

Yes I hope he can stay over 50%. He gets 23 delegates for that, then more some other way. I don’t know the specifics. 40 total up for grabs.

Yes, I’m voting for Trump no matter what.

Cruz will flake on the illegal immigration issue, just like he did in the senate.

Maine Cruz 45% - Trump 36%. 18% in.

What’s your source? I’m still seeing only 5% in.

source: the reddit computer warriors -— who have once again hacked into the voter fraud data base — this time for GopMaine.

If I had voted today, I would have voted for Cruz. Not because of the GOPe attacks, but because of Trump’s own words in the debates. Immigration is what brought him to the dance. His change of tune made me realize that as much as I may wish to trust him on that issue, I cannot. I pray that Cruz wins it, but if Trump does, I will support him because he hopefully won’t be worse than Hillary.

A Cruz win sticks it go the GOPe as well. Better actually, as he is a Conservative and hated by them.

Yes, they rigged the system decades ago because they knew decades it would screw over Trump in 2016.

I think he would be a more conservative president then Trump so he is my first choice. I simply can’t vote for someone who praises the good works of Planned Parenthood. I can’t do it.

The delegate distribution will look very close to this for Kansas.

Cruz 26, Trump 11, Rubio 3.

I have reached a point in my life where I approach things like this in a more sanguine attitude. i support Trump, you perhaps support Cruz...in the end we support our country. All of us can get in the weeds and vigorously defend our candidate....it doesn’t change any minds one way or another..there are no undecideds here at FR. mOst of it is just having fun at the keyboard. Onward!

That sounds good. If Cruz can stay above 50% it will be different. he will get more.
