He almost won, but now there’s a new process in play.

Not one that actually takes the nomination away from him!

The electoral college doesn't HAVE to vote for the candidate they're supposed to, but it's never been done before, and for good reason.

Without the majority, he has not won the nomination. If someone else wins it on later ballots, it would be completely legitimate.
