Great post. Well said. But how do you know that he will do what he says he will do?
Trump is very unpredictable and flexible. He is a once in a millennium genius at knowing what people want to hear.
I understand the “screw it all, try something different what do I have to lose” sentiment and anger.
In the words of that great poet and philosopher Ozzy Osbourne It’s a shot in the dark.
In the words of that other great poet and philosopher Pete Townsend, he could end up as:
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss
Sorry, Roger Daltry saying “won’t get fooled again”

Which other candidate, in our lifetime, has had so much to risk...with both business and personal stakes.... as Trump?
Why would he be willing to risk all that he’s spent his entire life building up...for himself, and his children, for a farce? He’s not a career politician who can just slip back into a safe, non-challenging public service life.
The man loves this country. He sees the trajectory we’re on. He truly wants to fix it.
“But how do you know that he will do what he says he will do?”
How do you know that ANY politician will do what he says he’ll do? You don’t. And most don’t, particularly Presidents who owe 2 billion dollars worth of “favors” to their donors, and U.S. Senators who owe at least 10 million dollars worth of “favors”.
At least Trump is unique in that respect: he’ll own “donors” nothing.
But otherwise, one simply has to judge a man’s character based on his past performance, assuming that there’s any past performance that matters to judge, which there usually isn’t with most politicians these days: they haven’t really done squat to be measured by. Trump didn’t get rich by deliberately screwing other people; he’s apparently not hated by most of the people he does business with, and he’s raised some fine children, which is another thing that is unfortunately unusual with many of the rich and famous.
