Cruz or Rubio wouldn’t put up much of a fight against Clinton. Their campaigns would be very similar to McCain and Romney, very timid, unwilling to play hardball with her out of fear of “offending” the perpetually offended. With the Clinton machine, the media in full campaign mode, and the DNC, they’d steamroll either Cruz or Rubio.
Unfortunately, Trump will face all that, plus the backstabbers in his own party, and may even be literally stabbed by Glenn Beck. But, at least Trump will put up a very tough fight, and won’t be afraid to go directly at her with all he’s got, because he really wants to win, not just be a sacrificial goat.
I think Cruz would fight her, but he’s just a very unappealing guy to any but the most conservative. Rubio would roll over just like McCain and Romney.

So if Trump REALLY wanted Hillary in, he wouldn't have run - he would have just backed Hillary and let Jeb! screw the GOP like McCain did. The plan was already in place!
Conclusion: Trump is REAL. And that's WHY the GOP is losing its mind.
The only way Trump beats Clinton is if the number of dem voters disgusted by Hillary that vote Trumo exceeds the number of rep voters disgusted by Trump that stay home.

Yes and that unfortunately that includes many pure "conservatives" who would rather lose to Hillary Clinton than see Donald Trump President. That way they can remain "pure" and just snipe from the sidelines while Hillary continues the work of Obama.
