Honestly, Tonto, I believe it is easily Ted, and not his campaign, who has some kind of friendship going with Beck, and my guess is it has to do with some religious affinity they share. The cult thing shouldn’t be entirely discounted in this odd case of an over the top personal connection between Ted and Beck.
I have come to believe they are both weird and all of it may be related to this Dominionist cult think. Cruz has just been more sane and able to cover it up, much more so than odd Glenn can, and Saint Rafael. I could be wrong, but this is increasingly my own opinion.
You could have something there. Dominionism and Mormonism seem to have some common political/theocratic goals.
Cruz and Beck are probably pretty ‘sympatico’ in those areas.
It’s no secret that many, many evangelicals stayed home in 2012 rather than elect the Mormon. I think a lot of them are turned off to Cruz now and are going over to Trump.
