Rubio scrambles to undo Trump in Florida
Politico ^ | 3/4/2016 | MARC CAPUTO

Posted on 03/04/2016 10:02:57 AM PST by 20yearsofinternet

Polls show it. Elections data indicate it. The political class frets about it. And now his own campaign manager admits it.

Marco Rubio is losing his home state of Florida—the place he has guaranteed he’d win on March 15.

“Yes,” Rubio’s campaign manager, Terry Sullivan, said when asked if the Florida senator is trailing Donald Trump at home. “But it doesn’t matter. We’re going to win Florida.”

These are dark days for the Rubio campaign, and they might be his last. The confidence Sullivan has in a Florida victory does not extend much beyond Rubio’s staff and his longtime backers.

According to Republican consultants and political observers from Tallahassee to Orlando to Tampa to Miami, there’s virtually no evidence that Rubio has the robust campaign in place that’s needed to shrink—let alone overcome— Trump’s lead that ranges from 7 to 20 percentage points, depending on the poll. For weeks, his team hasn’t blanketed known early voters with mail and they haven’t been calling Republicans statewide until just a few days ago.

Rubio destroyed his career with his amnesty support.

Every time I see Rubio anymore, I think of a yipper dog. You know, an ankle biter who thinks he or she is a 100 lb. german shepherd.

My current views (not that anyone really cares LOL):

Cruz: Statesman. Uber-Constitutionalist. Fighter. Enemy of the GOPe.

Trump: Not beholden to anyone. Presenting as a Constitutionalist. Uber-fighter. Could not care less about political correctness. Also enemy of the GOPe.

Rubio: Yipper dog.

Kasich: A good governor, but has the personality and national electability of cardboard.

Christie and Palin: Backing Trump. Don’t know what to think about Christie doing so.

The rest don’t matter. This includes the has-been failures such as Romney.

Florida. I can’t wait.

Anti-Trump operatives within FOX News played anti-Trump videos that were literally on the level of Jeb Bush political ads, the so-called moderators constantly formulated questions designed to literally beg the other candidates “attack Trump on this”, most of it totally off subject to the actual issues of the day, they hurled insulting talking points at Trump while Trtmp stood like a Cuban sandwich between Rubio and Cruz who threw constant personal and accusative jabs at him that he is a liar, con artist, business failure, Trump University hitjobs, and of course that he is actually a stealth Democratic operative working for Hillary Clinton.

Every single public poll, including from liberal networks, conservative, business or otherwise shows the public voted Trump the winner by a landslide.

Trump U decals, magazines and brochures are now selling for inflated prices as collectible Trump memorabilia, Trump U has never been more popular now as the anti-Trump operatives try to use a class action law suit as some political gain, there are on average 52,291 class action law suits every year in America ranging from battery powered nose hair razors to condoms and pretty much every single American has received those class action lawsuit mailings in their homr mailbox.

TRUMP UNIVERSITY WEALTH IN REAL ESTATE (3 CD set) is now selling for $124.99 on eBay, the price is rising.

Today, a major announcement from Jim Webb, the Democrat who ran against Hillary and Sanders but then dropped out when the Democratic establishment under Hillary cut off all DNC funding. He says he won’t vote for Hillary and is probably going to vote for Trump.

“I would not vote for Hillary Clinton,” Webb said on MSBNC’s “Morning Joe.”

When asked whether he’d vote for Trump, Webb said he wasn’t closed to the idea. “I’m not sure yet.”

That means he probably will.

This morning, it looks like O. J. Simpson’s murder knife was found. Forensics are being made. The Romney attacks on Trump, laughable in any thought such attacks would stop Trump and in fact cunsolidated his victory as the anti-establishment candidate, is already yesterday’s news and forgotten.

Romney’s purpose on behalf of the establishment was to tell others “vote for anybody but Trump in FLORIDA and Ohio” with the strategy that, even though they know Trump is going to win the entire thing, to keep his delegate count just by a squeaker under some huge number to try to throw the nomination into a corrupt brokered convention.

One day after the big speech by Romney and the Republican establishment, it has already failed.

Florida. Yup.

Do you suppose Marco is having temporary second thoughts about so enthusiastically p*$$ing on his conservative base by cosponsoring the gang of eight amnesty bill with Chuck Schumer?

You are so right and I enjoyed seeing Webb this morning especially saying he could not vote for Hillary. He only has two choices really if his vote is going to count. I totally agree that Trump will win 40 states. I love how this morning we found out that Rubio was a disaster at the University he taught at.....no surprise. Now we just have to give the final death blow to Cruz and we are good to go. Cruz is the worst of the 3 left but all 3 are bad.

Trump 2016!

I missed it last night when I was walking the dog, but I heard that during a post-debate interview with Rubio he was asked if he was concerned that a lot of Floridians are retired New Yorkers, and he answered that they didn't come to Florida for the weather, they came to Florida to escape New York politics.

Really?

Rick Scott time to gets some guts and endorse Trump.

Marco never shows up for committee meeting, votes, doesn’t propose or oppose policies.

Marco has defrauded Florida and Florida GOP of over a million dollars.

Like Obama he got a sweetheart real estate deal.

Rubio’s own finances are a shamble and he says Trump doesn’t know about business , what a joke. Trump according to his FEC disclosure earns from his private company’s retained earnings $400,000,000 per year.

Marco doesn’t even have much money in his personal savings.

Little Marco Roboto unintentionally opened a can of Whoop-Ass when he decided to make personal attacks on Trump over the last month.

You can bet that Trump will pull out all stops to win Florida and put Marco in the Has-Been locker.

After Marco's conduct in this campaign I doubt he will win reelection to the senate in 2018 and you can bet there will not be a position in the Trump administration for him.

When Trump gets done with him he's going to end up as a used car salesman in Little Haiti.

Think about what it’s like when you work with leaders / bosses who insist everything is going well when everyone else knows things are going poorly. How do those leaders/bosses look to you?

I consider any leader/boss like that to be either a) stupid (because they can’t see what’s happening) or b) selling spin (because they refuse to tell the truth). I don’t like to work with either case as both show that the leader / boss either cannot identify reality (stupid) or will not (lies).

When Rubio says “We will win Florida”, he’s that guy. Afraid to tell the truth because doing so might indicate he could lose. The indications are all there. He sees them. The people who work for him see them. We see them. The media sees them. Trump and Cruz see them...but Rubio refuses to acknowledge it which means he’s either stupid, lying or both.

Marco knows he is toast in Florida. Marco already announced that he will NOT run again for the Senate.

I think he would make a good Fox News Talking head.

Well, the very best scenario for Cruz is for Trump to win FL and Kascich to win Ohio. Since Kascich has little strength outside of a few states it would mean that for all practical purposes it would be a two way race. Donald Trump does not want a two man race.
