Michigan Freepers please check in for discussion and endorsements on our primary March 8.

The GOPe is trying even harder to stop Trump than Cruz.
Who did Mittens talk about yesterday?
Thanks for the thread MomwithHope. I’ll be voting in Livingston County for Cruz. But this is a very repub conservative strong area.
IMO they are still trying to keep Trump from being the nominee. They will be ineffective. Reid and Carter would prefer Trump. That was the tipping point for me. I have been for Cruz from the beginning, took a look at Trump and acknowledge he has been effective. But I can’t trust him to govern like a conservative. Just like Romney and just like McCain and just like Dole. Trump has done better in the open primaries than the closed ones. That does not bode well for a general election.
Listening to Romney yesterday my only thought was - where was this type of fight 8 years ago?
I will be at my polling place at 7 am to cast my vote for Donald Trump. I think he will do well in Michigan, as I am hearing lots of Trump chatter from people who have been pretty apathetic in the past.
Agreed, when we needed him to step up to the plate he didn’t and we wound up with 4 more years of Obama. He still wants to be president, and maybe is delusional enough to think he can swing something at a brokered convention. Tired of pulling the lever for losers.
This election will be the first where both of our boys will vote too. We have a fun day planned after voting, and I believe all four of us are Cruz supporters.
Trump would go around, like Dole/McCain/Romney, apologizing for and equivocating about true conservative principles such as limited government, de-funding Planned Parenthood, rolling back government involvement in our health care. No thanks. I think I’ll take a 10th Amendment conservative like Cruz this time.
Yah, meant to say, wish we had heard this kind of talk 4 AND 8 years ago. McCain and Romney both were not fighters. Agree with the delusional diagnosis also.
I am hoping the Dems will stick to their own ballot. Lots of college kids who will want Sanders. 59 Republican delegates at stake, threshold is 15% to be awarded any delegates.
Voting Cruz in the heart of the North. So’s my wife. Time to teach the GOPe that defeating democrats is Job 1.
Spank Rubio and Kasich and Romney by voting for Cruz or Trump.
“... threshold is 15% to be awarded any delegates.”
Yes, polls show 3 candidates over the threshold. DT TC MR
votes for below threshold candidates are ignored when awarding the delegates proportionally. Yes, as in other states, a vote for a below threshold candidate is throwing away your vote.
This is one Michigander who is sick of Michigan being called a blue state when we have a Republican governor, house and senate. Just sick of our state being divided and I believe Cruz has the chops, the knowledge and the acumen to make the case for constitutional conservatism and more than anything to appoint originalists to the supreme court.
I agree. Other than our entitlement zones here and there, Michigan is a very red state.
I moved to my current residence in late ‘11.
There’s a house I pass every day on my commute to/from work.
During every election season that entire time, the guy who lives there has had signs up for the democrat candidate; this year he’s got a Trump sign.
Trump says the Republican party is growing. That doesn’t make any difference to me if we wind up with a president who won’t govern as a conservative. I know quite a few people who went to trump that are tired of him now. Yes he most likely will win our primary but will those former dems stick with us in the general?
For the first time in my life, I have voted early, via absentee ballot. One reason is that I couldn’t wait for the opportunity to register my intense dissatisfaction with the status-quo and the GOP establishment bend-over machine.
Been itching to get my hands on a ballot since they undermined promising conservative candidates with dirty tricks in 2014.
Felt good!
