Good one! LOL
I sent this in: I hope you all like it.
Anyone with a passing understanding of WWII and the politics involved would see more sense in putting “Feel the Bern” on Hitler’s head, as both are socialists of slightly different types. Bernie is a “Democratic Socialist,” while Hitler is a “National Socialist.” Hitler, admittedly, would probably have killed Bernie if he had the chance because Hitler spawned the belief that to have socialist politics in Germany in the 1930s-40s, one must also be “an anti-Semite”.
Furthermore, Hitler, while a homicidal maniac, embraced national health care, animal rights, vegetarianism, socialization of banks and commerce, etc., and other issues much more prevalent in Bernie’s camp than for which anything Trump stands (which seems to change constantly, but has never come close to Bernie’s beloved socialism for which Hitler fervently argued).
While Luckovich may be a bit confused by rudimentary economics, it is quite clear that Trump is a capitalist, something that all socialists, including Hitler, have a strong disdain for - heck, the Soviets had their own swastika early on in the 20’s as well. And Hitler’s quote that he would “covert the people to Socialism without simply killing off the old individualists” or that we must “find and travel the road from individualism to socialism without revolution” could come straight out of Bernie mouth if the irony didn’t kill him first. Mr. Waligore or Mr. Luckovich, I ask you, without looking it up, who said the following, Bernie or Hitler? “Why do we need to trouble over socializing banks or factories? We socialize human beings.” Hitler certainly feels the Bern.
With that in mind, I would urge Mike Luckovich to recreate a cartoon of Hitler with a “Feel the Bern” hat, because frankly, it would be much more appropriate and his attempt at effrontery would probably anger a larger group of people. His cartoon, however, would actually become historically, politically, and economically accurate. The Trump = Hitler meme is not only overdone; it simply doesn’t match any of those three aspects as Hitler was NEVER a capitalist.
Very well stated my FRiend! Thanks for sharing.
After Monica, the Blue dress, and Clinton’s White House, it’s a little late for establishment media and others to complain about the occasional vulgarity in last night’s debate.
That train left the station... Why not pin beginnings of all this on Bill Clinton. Can we do that, PLEASE??
Says Hillary; "What difference does it make?"
We ain't goin' fer historical accuracy; but impact upon LowInfoVoters!
