I am voting ABH - Anybody but Hillary, but Chris Wallace did have a point. Trump tends to overstate things in a big way. There is really only ONE place cutting government spending will be very effective and that is entitlements. There is plenty to cut everywhere else also, but without drastically slashing entitlements we will never get our fiscal house in order.
Even cutting entitlements when rates go up, the government is going to go broke so fast that your head would spin.
Your post mentioned cuts in spending - I would like those on stage to mention cutting funds to terrorists and illegals.
Trump paints broad strokes not wonky details. HHS spent $1.145 trillion last year of which 52% was Medicare and 34% was Medicaid so that’s over 700 billion. Some fraction of that was directly for pharmaceuticals, but the total spend is 86% of 1.1 trillion, and that’s all subject to improved negotiation, evn though it may be categorized as something other than direct pharmaceuticals, e.g. drugs used in surgery paid for by Medicare.
