Weak speech. If we were still in the 90’s this could have been effective but not now.

The answer to Romney’s dishonest tirade is Romney’s own words:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlD4hwzGhdY

He apparently thinks, like all of the establishment types, that we are ignorant and do not remember.

He is wrong...and they are going to find out how wrong they are throughout this election.

The "establishment" reps are "phony" advocates for "freedom" also. Witness that portion of Romney's speech dedicated to the Founders' views of "democracy."

Any student of America's founding who quotes John Adams should know that the founders outright rejected the idea of "democracy" in favor of framing a Constitution for a "Republic"--as in Benjamin Franklin's:"A Republic, ma'am, if you can keep it."

Such lack of a basic understanding of and ability to articulate the ideas of liberty kept Romney from being able to rebuke and rebut Obama four years ago, and his inability to do that helped to produce the anger and frustration among citizens which has produced the Trump phenomenon.

I had to turn it off after a couple of minutes. It was the typical garbage speech that we’ve heard over and over ad nauseum over the past few weeks.

Romney gives my spirit that same creepy feeling that cruze and rubio do. It’s that..OH-OH feeling, the one that should make bells go off in your head. That spark has never, ever, led me wrong. It’s 100% right. It doesn’t need evidence as the evidence will make itself known with time.

A failed two time loser with zero credibility trying to discredit Donald Trump. What a joke. A corporate raider daring to accused Trump of destroying small business’s and laying people off. Unreal!

Seen on Twitter.

Sending Mitt Romney out to attack Trump seems to signal that the GOP has no grasp of the situation whatsoever.— Popehat (@Popehat) March 3, 2016

I fear many of you are staking your hopes on Trump on Illegal Immigration. Take that one issue away and why would you support Trump?

Trump is not going to be the champion (on immigration) you think he is.

The GOP establishment is playing with fire and they are the only one who are going to get burned.

If there is a brokered convention they have lost me for life.

This posting reminds me.

There was a discussion among lefties on CNN last night. It was the AC 360 show...he has a great panel.

Everyone was talking about how Trump got to the top...Media Control...Personality...True Outsider..."Reality Show" etc.

Then one of them popped up and stated the obvious: Trump has split the party on ISSUES!

Immigration, trade, war...real issues that the base simply DOES NOT agree with party elites on.

And the split has been there for over 30 years.

But the elites will NEVER change their position on them. It's the essence of the party...the bedrock.

This insight came from LEFTY commentators on CNN. Yet we have no media on the right that sees this and will comment on it?

Bottom line: The Republican elite (Media, Conservative Movement, Donors, politicians) don't even want to publicly acknowledge what the split is about. They are spinning a "cult of personality" narrative and pushing it hard. Their goal is a groundswell of ridicule and vitriol to expunge the party of these upstarts.

Because to admit it's over 3-4 very, very important and fundamental issues in which the Party Elites are on the opposite side of 90% of their base...would mean their certain destruction.

Romney in 2012 was like watching your team make the Super Bowl and then only run quarterback sneaks and put nobody out on the field on defense.

Watching Romney today, in awe of how disconnected the GOPe really is. Tone deaf? Clueless? Arrogant? Disconnected? Obtuse?

Whoever thought this was a good idea to parade a total LOSER (or if you prefer-LOOSER) chose....well...you know...

Why would he talk about the issues he agrees with Trump on? Romney wanted to build a wall, deny job opportunities and benefits to illegal aliens, opposed a pathway to citizenship, double funds for deportations and apprehensions, and so on...

I guess Mitt's days of posing as a conservative on the immigration issue by talking about cutting social services for illegals so that they would "self-deport" are long past.

He, the Bushes, Rove, and Rubio are now too busy building the GOP Rainbow Coalition to even pretend to care about securing the border.
