It’s pretty much always been like that.
I was very disappointed when I became an adult to discover that adulthood was pretty similar to Jr. High., socially speaking.
I never much cared what the “in crowd” thought back in high school either. My Dad taught me to be “master of my fate, and captain of my soul.” That motto has always saved me from being a herd animal.
