The Republican establishment is so clueless that they make Marie Antoinette of "let them eat cake" infamy seem perceptive of the contemporary public mood. The mainstream news media and neo-conservative outlets like National Review are giving Baghdad Bob of Gulf War II infamy a run for the money about being in denial. They could as well dragged Bob Dole or the elder Bush out, but they are probably in no shape to make any long speeches.
The big question is whether Hillary Clinton and her cohorts are as unrealistic as the GOP-e and the neo-conservatives. My guess is that they are not.
