He may not always have a Republican congress. In fact, if they don’t get their act together real soon, that could happen as lot sooner than they think.

The GOPe doesn’t care if they are a minority party. They just love being in DC

The most important point in the entire plan, and the key to everything worthy of the name "reform":

Require price transparency from all healthcare providers, especially doctors and healthcare organizations like clinics and hospitals. Individuals should be able to shop to find the best prices for procedures, exams or any other medical-related procedure.

This is outstanding and long overdue. The complete lack of price transparency is what has made a complete mess of our healthcare system.

BOOM !!

Trump got to the issue, studied it, got some wise advise and NAILED IT !!

Not one of the others had said definitively they'd get rid of the mandate. That's a crucial step. Because of it, a person goes to get medical care, and the provider chooses the most profitable available option..

Example: what is this with people in their late 80s and 90s getting replacement shoulders, hips, and knees? Several around here know of someone who died of the infection they got in the hospital stay for the surgery.

This isn’t a government plan. It’s a plan to drop the mandate and increase private sector competition. Keeping Medicaid for those who need it, but making it state-based, is a giant step away from federal interference in our lives.

looks remarkably similar to Cruz's plan...

Until a week ago you Cruzers were saying building a wall was actually his plan. Then, in the debate, he was tag-teaming with Rubio and saying he'd choose Rubio instead of Trump.

Just sayin'...

I don't trust him. He has never given me a reason to do so.

Really? This is the only proposal I read that didn't include tax credits for healthcare, i.e. the government redistributing wealth.

One more thing...

Here is a Primer on Direct Primary Care Services which is missing from Trumps Document: http://www.senatorpatrickcolbeck.com/healthcare-reform-strategy/direct-primary-care-services/

Also this plan needs to be Prototyped. Let the House, Senate, and Whitehouse staff and yes the Trumps adopt it for 6 months and work out the kinks.

However, if it is as good as I think it might be, offer it to our Vets and Current Military personnel via an equal cash swap to buy a plan, & HSA contribute etc. vs the average spending per Vet the VA is now getting.

To the Trump team, are you lurking here? Feel free to steal out ideas!

"Not one of the others had said definitively they'd get rid of the mandate."

As I understand RomneyCare before the MA Legislature got their hands on it, was a plan were if you didn't buy a policy you had to post bond of either 10k or 100k as your self insurance ( and also this was a Heritage Foundation thing to begin with ).

This takes us back before what the MA Legislature did which IMHO is a good thing.

Yep good plan. Sounds a whole lot like Cruz's plan that has been out oh about 5 months. Go to Cruz website and read

What is this about deducting insurance premiums? They are deductible now along with medical costs. I like Cruz plan better, flat tax. Send in a post card with what you made and what you pay in. I thought Trump was for that too but I guess he changed since he now is for deducting premiums.

Obucketocrapcare gotta go. Our premiums went up 55% this year. Am retired and our retiree program was impacted via Obamacare which CUT OFF funding for retiree subsidized programs.

I did not even know there was such a thing and that my healthcare was being subsidized thru the USGOV. I did not retire under a government program (long story, short ending).

First place, I do not want to be subsidized no way no how by the FERAL Government. They can pound sand like so many others but just up their orifice. Secondly, what other dang programs like this are out there spending our tax dollars that need to be shutdown?

I no why this was shutdown (not to save money but probably counted as such). To force me to move to Obamacare. But I won't.

4- Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Contributions into HSAs should be tax-free and should be allowed to accumulate.

I have an HSA now

“We must review basic options for Medicaid and work with states to ensure that those who want healthcare coverage can have it.”

Um... Isn’t this socialized medicine???

Since when does the government do ANYTHING right???

I do not get how any honest conservative can seriously consider this liberal as our nominee for President...

You are right. He goes on to say how the government will work to provide the system for the health care plan he proposes.

Typical Georgia person, cannot comprehend more than one sentence in a paragraph.

“I’m subsidizing people who are getting it for nothing.”

You are also buying their food, rent, car, entertainment products, phones, drugs, utilities and a virtual rainbow of goodies that increase as they increase the size of their families.

Doesn’t that make all feel warm and fuzzy all over?

You look for negatives in a bucket of positive. Trump has stated many times insurance companies can’t use pre-existing conditions to keep people from buying insurance.

It may be better than Hillary, no doubt but you may want to read the #1 again where he talks having the Congress put together the framework (my word) for his plan.

Read the words and it sounds a whole lot like Obama's words (do not throw that at the computer) when he was selling his plan.

Cruz plan goes only far enough to repeal and open up the borders to sell insurance across state lines. This lets free market principles start to work.

We both agree Ocare gotta go but what we put in its place is where all of the grind is. I just do not think his plan is going to get government as far out of it as Cruz's plan, is all.

And, Cruz's flat tax on a post card whether it is 10% or 12% or 15%. I am all in. I would much rather spend my time with my CPA figuring out where to spend my money than where I hid it.

My wife would appreciate it too. She would have a whole lot less knots on her head come tax time and our scotch bill would go down. And ICE, need to move to Alaska around February.

Oh and the maximum I am allowed to save in a tax free account is $6500.

So you already have a HSA and now Trump is promising to let you have an HSA.

See how he does it. He speaks to people who do not know that there is a HSA out there.

Oh, look Donald is going to give us this while all along it already exists. Maybe the issue it can be increased 2 or 3 folds but the dang thing exists.

“He will not get rid of Obamacare as he promised.”

You didn’t bother to read Trump’s plan, correct? Let me help you with part of that:

“Congress must act. Our elected representatives in the House and Senate must:

Completely repeal Obamacare. Our elected representatives must eliminate the individual mandate. No person should be required to buy insurance unless he or she wants to.”
