LePage is simply wrong. One has to naturalize your kinds born in another country only if you don’t want that country to have a legal claim on them. My first son was born in Portugal, and I was advised to have him naturalized because of the murky relationship between American and Portuguese law at that time, that they might give them some claim on MY property since he was my heir. Law is weird enough inside one country. Gets real weird with two. For me the matter is simple to which sovereign does the mother owe obedience at the time of his birth?
