The things you mention to me as Trump lies, his net worth not being 10b but rather 4b, and his not being responsible for the bankruptcies of companies.
I don’t know those things to be lies. If it turns out trump is a liar, then that’s what happens. I don’t defend liars.
I think people who lie demonstrate a lack of character, and character matters in terms of a president.
Now what I can do is forgive a person for lying.
I’ve already said that I support a Trump/ Cruz ticket, so in order to do that I would have to forgive Cruz for the lies I believe he has told, wouldn’t I?
And if it came to light that Trump lied, then I would have to weigh those lies and see if they are reason enough for me not to support him.
But here’s the thing. As I weigh the character of these men running for president, who is on the other side of the scale?
