In order to defeat Donald Trump, The Weekly Standards Bill Kristol admits he is prepared to hand Hillary Clinton the Oval Office. On Wednesdays Morning Joe, the Republican Establishment leader laid out his plot to deprive Trump of the 50% of delegates necessary to secure the nomination. From there, the idea is to go into a brokered convention and cut a kamikaze deal that awards enough delegates to an acceptable candidate (who will have won far fewer votes, states, and delegates than Trump).
The problem with the Establishment brokering a behind-closed-door deal that hands the nomination to a Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% , is that the backlash against the Republican Party is almost certain to hand Hillary Clinton the presidency.
If a bunch of rich, angry GOP elites rob Trump supporters of their victory, the blowback will result in so many voters staying home in November, Hillary wins. As NBCs Chuck Todd pointed out last night, at this point the delegate math is such that the only way to stop Trump is through this scheme at the convention.
As youll see below, that outcome is preferable to Kristol, and by extension it is safe to assume that outcome is also fine with the rest of the Republican Establishment.

When Pat Buchanan won the 1996 NH primary, Bill Kristol said that he would support Bill Clinton in the general election if Buchanan became the Republican nominee. Neoconservatives and the GOP establishment have always had more in common with establishment Democrats than with the libertarian or populist grassroots Right, but rarely are they so open about it. Usually they like to at least maintain the act of being different from Democrats.
Kristol and his ilk will regret the day they would hatch such a scheme.
That Kristol, and by extension most of the GOPe, is comfortable anointing a reprobate criminal as President makes him and his cronies criminals by association. In addition to the National Review, The Weekly Standard is headed toward the dustbin of history.
They are not going to give up their gravy train without a fight!
So what the GOPe is saying, is:
We don’t care who you peasants voted for, we know better and we will choose the next president.
It’s torch and pitchfork time!
I don’t think Trump would have a problem running third party if he gets stabbed in the back like this. If Rubio agrees to this he’s more of a sleaze than I ever imagined.
The 2015 Congress “should have” done what the people elected them to do. If they had, Trump may not be in the lead.
We can say “should’ve/would’ve/could’ve” all we want. But congress “didn’t” and the people decide what “should” happen next.
This has been the plan all along...Kristol et all don’t need my subscription for the Weekly Standard any longer.......
These effin people are crazy...they want the country to tank and be totally destroyed instead of fixing this mess????? I never heard of such a thing.....they make me sick to my stomach......
>>Open primaries for one half of the Uniparty, and stupordelegates for the other half. Sound like a republic to you?
They didn’t fight half as hard to stop the re-election of Obama. It all comes down to cheap labor: outsource the manufacturing, bring in cheap labor for service, bring in H1-Bs to replace skilled labor. Drive Americans to poverty so we will “compete” for the same low wage work as third worlder and still work with our Puritan work ethic.
I wouldn’t have believed it just a few weeks ago. But it turns out the conspiracy theorists around here are right. The people in charge of the GOPe actually are controlled by globalist special interests. They have now been unmasked and they prefer an anti-American felon over Trump.
I could say insanity but it isn’t it is deception and betrayal. This is about all the billions from illegal immigration.
There is nothing about Trump to elicit this crazy reaction unless you are a democrat or in the tank for illegals.
I didn’t vote for Trump, but this attempt to undercut his legitimate success is disgusting. These politicians and pundits do not have any core principles other than they believe and worship government and its control over anyone outside of their incestuous beltway.
They truly spit upon the concepts of freedom and liberty. Is the electorate making a mistake with Trump? Perhaps. But it is the electorate’s choice to make!
Republicans, Democrats, Uniparty, Government Party, all the same. Anything other than freeing the citizenry from the shackles of taxation and regulation.
From the Huff:
“The president-elect arrived at the Chevy Chase, Md., home of syndicated columnist George Will shortly after 6:30 p.m., according to a press pool report. Greeting him at the residence were other luminaries of the conservative commentariat, including the Weekly Standard’s William Kristol, New York Times columnist David Brooks, and Charles Krauthammer of the Washington Post.”
These s..t bags are exactly what the word implies. I wish them a quick decent into a life of hell.
I’m a Cruz supporter, but to publicly claim you’re a Republican and then acknowledge you’re prepared to hand the election over to Hillary is unconscionable! That makes you a traitor to America in my book.
I know right? Can you imagine how long Kristol would last on the walking dead? That’s what he’s begging for.
>>.they want the country to tank and be totally destroyed instead of fixing this mess?????
See my post #30.
One thing is for sure. Trump is revealing exactly who are the democRAT-supporters that have been operating (some for decades)in REPUB clothing. They can’t hide anymore.
Disgusting that any so-called REPUPs would push the Clinton Crime Family upon us yet again.

It’s disgusting.
The good thing about this is that the American people can see how truly corrupt DC politicians and pundits are. They don’t give a crap about “We The People”...
