Over the last decade there have been back channel reports of cougar sightings and attacks in the Arkansas river valley in Oklahoma and Arkansas as far east as Conway. Oklahoma admits their presence while Arkansas denies it.

There's painters all over the place. You get a lot more reports because of the trail cams, these days.

In Calif., they are protected but because of the attack, she has a right to put it down. That is ok with me. I prefer bears over mt lions here. I was told to wear a mask on the back of my head that has eyes when taking my dogs out for a walk. It suppose to make them think you are staring at them. I don’t know if that’s true but plan on getting one. LOL I might have to wait until Halloween to find one.
