Donald Trump says parts of his immigration proposals are negotiable, but only minor details about his border wall.
In an interview with Fox News Sean Hannity on Monday night, Trump responded to a question about a recent claim, first introduced by BuzzFeed earlier in the day, that he told The New York Times editorial board in an off-the-record tape-recorded meeting that he may not follow through with his proposed immigration measures if he is elected president.
The New York Times is claiming today that they had an off-the-record conversation with you in January, Hannity started.
We had a board meeting, it was off-the-record, suddenly they leak it, its all over the place, Trump said.
They said its negotiable on the wall, Hannity said in reference to Trumps stance on Mexican immigration and his oft-stated promise to build a border wall.
By the way it is negotiable. Things are negotiable, Trump said. Ill make the wall 2 feet shorter or something.
Trump was quick to add that the negotiation does not include nixing the idea altogether.
Building it? Not negotiable.
Would it be negotiable about the 11 million? Hannity pressed. Maybe let some people stay if they register in a period of time?
I would say this, Trump answered. We will work out some system thats fair, but we either have a country or we dont. We need a border. We need a wall.

RE: I would like to see Vicente Fox be required to deliver at least one of the payment checks.
I’d like to hear him say what he said in SPANISH :)
I hear the “F” word becomes the “J” words....
Gullible.
He certainly voted for the Corked bill which abrogated the treaty provisions in the constitution and made it possible. He knew when he voted on the bill that he was basically giving Obama the power to do what he wanted with Iran. Do you think that is a good idea? I knew it would not turn out well, why couldn’t a genius like Cruz predict that? I think it should have been handled as a treaty, since that what it actually is but the constitutional expert knew better.
I would suggest you spend your time finding a way to defend Trump on his KKK stance in his run against Clinton. You have got time to manufacture one........It is not going away, count on that FACT. Better get your Defense caucus rounded up.
Did someone else use theword negotiate or negotiable?
NO, it was Donald Trump. If he was committed to his claimed immigration polcy, why would he use the word negotiable?
YOU:You're completely making this up based on a quote taken out of context from the Hannity show by CNN.
Thank you DOUG. You perfectly proved my point. DT can say anything today, restate another way tomorrow and that's ok. OH, it was his earpiece.
Better get to work on the defense of the KKK mess, it's not going away.
All OK by me. I’ll settle for a 48 foot wall and 95% deportation. And an official, no exception end to anchor babies.
He didn't mean this, he said that, he means this, etc.etc.etc. My gosh they are even mind readers.
Round and round we go, where it stops nobody knows.
Musical Excuses.........DT won't let his puppets rest. ROFL
If you think Trump supports the KKK, then put out those facts or Get Lost! Jim Robinson said the same thing to someone else on this forum lat night. The guy shut up.
How nice, thank you Lizzy. Perfectly fits TED CRUZ a foundational ROCK I want America to be built upon, not sinking sand with DT.
Peak Trump! Peak Trump! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
(tipped over my easy chair)
I hope he means that the temporary ban on Muslims is a permanent ban!
So far, Cruz hs doneeverything he promised when running for the Senate. Trump doesn’t even keep his promises to his wives.
Never mind that his deals will be selling out us, no change from the status quo. The KKK is a great motivator for dems but the MSM and dems are sitting on a lot of other stuff. So sad, if Trump is nominated Hill will win big.
KC:
Thanks for the comments.
You will vote Hillary, that is sad!
Ok, that is between him and his 2 ex wives and ultimately God. Ronald Reagan was divorced and signed the most liberal state abortion law in the 1965 or 1966 in CA when Governor.
He evolved and was the leader of the Conservative movement in the 1980’s. If Trump tackles 1) Border security and illegal immigration, 2) Free Trade that is not Fair trade for U.S. workers and economy and 3) stops this neo-con interventionist foreign policy and only commit US forces when the U.S. has been attacked, then I will say he is next to Reagan, my 2nd favorite president.
That is how I see it, others are free to have their own opinions.
When you have a candidate who can’t speak in complete sentences like Trump his cult members tend to fill in the blanks with what they want to hear rather than coming to a logical conclusion based on other statements and past history.
Cruz even went that extra step by renouncing Canadian citizenship! No one even asked him to do that.
