57 with a newly emptied nest. 4 grandkids nearby. I’m good.

LOL...the thought of an empty nest in a few years does not scare me a bit.

Put it this way, my oldest son rescued a dog that was lost, and I broke down and agreed to keep her. About 18 months ago, he moved out and got an apartment on his own. However, the apartment complex allowed dogs up to 50 lbs, and the shepherd mix hits the scales at 75 (though she should weigh 60).

She'd lived with us long enough to become part of the family, she's really a great dog. I've said a few times, "He left the dog behind when he moved out...we got the better end of the bargain." lol

When my older brother got the nest emptied, after a year or so he told me that the empty nest stunk. I told him he was doing it wrong.
