More to the point, perhaps, how can people think that when hackers can get into virtually everything, they can’t get into voting machines?

It’s kind of something to think about. When did ATM’s come into widespread use? 20 years ago? We walk up to an ATM, insert our card, punch in our code, and walk away with $100 and see a receipt stating what we’d expect; our balance declines $100 and there are those 5 twenties in our hand. We think nothing of it.

Citibank installed the first ATM’s in NYC in late 1970’s, prior to the Widespread use of the Internet. Your point about hacking any machinery in the voting booth or the electronic transmission lines is true. Thus, for elections to be less corrupted we must return to paper ballots. Fat chance!
