Voting properly in the primaries is never a wasted vote. It could be a wasted vote if there’s a fringe 3rd party who might take away votes from a more electable alternative who might prevent a disastrous person from winning.

I sent my absentee ballot in for Fred Thompson a few years back. By the time they counted the votes he had dropped out. Can I call that one wasted? (Planning to waste my vote on Cruz this afternoon.)

I don’t think any vote is wasted if you vote your conscience.. We all want to lay our head at the end of the day and we feel we did right thing. But I will say that the Ted Cruz supporters seem to have some of the most self righteous people I’ve ever met. I don’t think I could ever live up to their standards and I think God can use some really imperfect sometimes. By all means vote your conscience and leave the rest to God.
