common tutor and I were “an item” for some time.. I respected his intellect and his drive.. but like many other high performing people, this often does not make for good relationships He was very hurt and angry when I would not marry him & broke off the connections... including our collaboration on a book. we remained in close contact and respected friends til his death and I was his confidant during his last days. I attended his funeral and was so sad when there were only about 10 people present. He had a way to turn people off.. big time. I have returned to his grave in Chillicothe several times since.. a nice site on a ridge overlooking the city. As a end of life chaplain there are a lot of stories here.. maybe I will tell and publish them eventually - maybe not. They will just emerge into what Jung feels is the communal “whatever”
Thanks for sharing, Dolly.
Sounds like it was a difficult decision to make with CT; we all have our flaws—except of course, when we are posting on Free Republic-—but love is a wonderful thing to experience at any age.
