My MIL gave me a set of pearl jewelry — choker, ring w/diamonds, and earrings w/diamonds. She called them “silver pearls”. They’re not perfect-perfect in shape so I think they’re the real deal. They’re silver-grey and quite beautiful.

I’m a lover of grey anything but hardly get a chance to wear them as our days of going to formal functions are few and far between.

To tell if a pearl is real, rub it across your teeth. If it’s real it will feel gritty. If it feels smooth, it’s a fake.

Sounds REALLY beautiful; lucky you!

I got my grey pearls ( Tiffany's called then "blue", they look grey to me...LOL ) when the kiddo was christened. i used to wear them a LOT, but living in exurbia, I don't get a chance to wear much of my stuff any more. :-(
