Well, I’ve studied Richard the Third for 40 years so I have lots of opinions. But there is only one fact:
There is absolutely no evidence that the boys were killed at all.
My own opinion is that they were slipped out of the country which was not unusual with royal children when fortune’s wheel turned in the wrong direction.
All we know is that they were seen in the royal palaces playing at “the butts” (archery) and then slowly were not seen as the 3 estates of England petitioned the Duke of Gloucester to take the crown. (They did not want another boy king, like Henry 6, who had caused mayhem for years.)
Josephine Tey has a fascinating theory which many people ascribe to. Whatever the truth, it’s a brilliantly entertaining book. Enjoy!!!
