“Not sure this is bad. How many conservatives would vote for him? I see him pulling from the dems.”
This may be wishful thinking. Nobody knows who Bloomberg would draw from. As a billionaire successful Republican, he has to compete directly with Trump. As a centerist, he would play to the area that Hilary would like to occupy.
I just don’t think anyone knows.
I can see him taking votes from both sides. You might not realize this, but there are people who absolutely will not vote for Trump, I am one of them, and probably will not vote if he is the nominee. There are also many who will not vote for Hillary, which is why Sanders has been competitive. So in some peeps mind, Bloomberg may be the most rational choice and alternative.
Bloomberg can help or hurt whoever he chooses. Since he doesn’t have any real hope of winning, he can redefine himself in any way he wants without losing anything.
He left the Republican Party in 2007 filed as an Independent.
If you think his wealth is the main thing you don't understand Trump at all. Romney is rich but that didn't get 30,000 people to come and cheer him at rallies during the 2012 primaries. Trump is a blue collar candidate, not a plutocrat. He's running on working class issues - jobs, guns, immigration, fighting terror.
Bloomberg is his opposite on all the issues. Bloomberg will draw votes almost entirely from the tiny remnant of northeastern RINOs and liberal Democrats. He'll get zero evangelical votes, zero libertarian votes, zero Bernie supporter votes, and less than half of Hillary's votes.
Bloomberg v Clinton will be an establishment civil war.
No matter who loses, we win.
