I’m a little confused I guess. What kind of “trap” would it have been for him to flatly disavow Duke and the KKK on CNN? Seems to me that should be a conditioned response to any reporter question on the matter.
And if he was “having trouble with his earpiece”, why would he say “I don’t know who David Duke is or anything about white supremacy”?
This response just doesn’t make any sense given he had just disavowed Duke two days earlier. I give him the benefit of the doubt that he’s not a racist, but this response is, let’s just say...not helpful.
