Trump’s stereotype in his mind of the south is a bunch of good ole boys riding around with hoods on and going to klan meetings. He was afraid he would lose votes if he went against David Duke and the Klan. A typical politican, not wanting to lose votes.... in his case, even Klan votes.
I think he was simply not trusting that talking head about anything.

I watched Trump disavow Duke’s endorsement at the presser with Christie the other day. He said “I disavow”.
