Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Friday vowed to "open up" libel laws in order to sue media outlets that write "purposely negative" and "horrible" articles about him.
"I’m gonna open up our libel laws, so when they write purposely negative and horrible, false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money," Trump said at a rally in Fort Worth, Texas.
"We’re going to open up those libels laws," he added. "So that when The New York Times writes a hit piece, which is a total disgrace, or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money."

Journalists are ill-educated simpletons who are ALWAYS looking for "the simple answer", because, well - they're simple.

Trump and his team have come to the conclusion that there may be a slight chance that the attacks of the Kuban Klown Brothers in last night's "debate" might gain some traction, such as it is, before Tuesday next.
SO, Trump has fired up the Great Big Giant Media Attention Vacuum , ONCE AGAIN, and is going to suck ALL OF THE AIR out of the political discussion room over the weekend, and into next week.
There's NOTHING the Media DeathStar dimwits enjoy more than "defending" their precious little First Amendment libel monopoly - unless it's bashing that coarse Neanderthal interloper Donald Trump.
They get to do both? HEAVEN!!!
Pay no attention to the fact that Trump voters by and large HATE the media, and so do many other flavors of voters.
Just picture Rubio & Cruz turning blue as they hear the giant vacuum pump turn on - and know that their fate on March 1, TrumpDay, is sealed.

The AWESOME thing about my theory in post #166 is that even if you TOLD the Media DeathStar dimwits what Trump is up to, they WOUDLN'T BE ABLE TO STOP THEMSELVES from attacking Trump over this.

I’d be more impressed if he was talking about opening up the laws so government agencies like the EPA could be sued for things like the King Gold Mine.

My own suggestion is that Donald is trying too hard.
The onus for dealing constructively in the face of press lies should be ours. If we don’t accept this, get ready to say bye-bye to any kind of First Amendment which isn’t chilled like unto the law of Canada, where you can’t even risk making gays feel bad.
He’s a liberal fascist, like all fascists.

Given what the media has been doing to our side, I would JUST LOVE to see them held accountable.
It’s gotten to the point where the media BRAGS about being worth 10 points to the person they support.
No country should have to deal with that.

Well, here’s where the founders’ view has been failing because the people no longer care about truth.
Heaven to earth, heaven to earth, come in earth: you won’t find a fix for this in a law about the media! You can find a fix for this on your knees before God.
Well anyhow, Trump himself is prospering because, although not perfect, he has been puncturing a lot of media lies on his own.
One wouldn’t even need a law, methinks. Just having Donald Trump give an address every week about the Media Lie Of The Week would have an immense impact.
I would say we’re on the same page, at this point.
