People would reject the news channels that presented untruthful and biased content and they would no longer be subsidized by the package deals.

The case was dismissed because Trump failed to present "clear and convincing evidence to establish malice." Trump responded by complaining that "the libel laws in this country have never been fair" (WAAAAHHHH!).

No, we don't have healthy dissent in the media, at least not on TV, but we all know everyone on the tube has a bias. As ugly as that can get, it's the American Way. We are free to agree or not.
Those of us who care are scouring the internet and reading magazines we trust, newspapers we find to be marginally correct (never saw one get it right yet, at least not every time), and doing our own digging, not just accepting things at face value.
What we do not have is a media muzzled by fear of continuous frivolous lawsuits.
As Jefferson said, "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it."
The ability to sue for Libel and Slander already exists. Using that as a hammer to quash any opposing viewpoints or exposure of wrongdoing is not in keeping with the spirit of the First Amendment. That is what would be the likely outcome.

We don't want gov censorship but an individuals right to sue these reporter libelous maggots when they cause that individual harm (which is actually all the time really as they are the ones that cause economic harm to the USA).
For example what they call free trade is really unfair trade that China is allowed to ban any product while all their produtcs have to be taken in . what I'm saying is the media lies because they don't explain the unequalness of the rules of the trade but instead label it free trade when China is restricting trade so it's not free trade it's a lie and it's causing China to steal all the wealth of the USA ). Trump understands this . no one else does because of the media lies.
The media is reporting that white cops are killing blacks another lie. they report mass shootings without saying that this has as much probability as winning the lottery, libel good people to destroy them etc.

You won’t believe it but I’ve had the Apollo 11 moon landing on my mind since this morning (I won’t bore you with the reasons why). When it was time to make their move to the surface, Houston told Eagle (lunar module) they were ‘go’ for power descent to land on the moon. I guess that’s where I got ‘descent’ instead of dissent.
I’ll try to keep my mind on the task at hand in the future!
