Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Donald J. Trump on Friday, a major turn in a wild race and one that gives the New York businessman a major boost as he heads into the pivotal Super Tuesday contests.
Mr. Christie was a candidate himself until he came in sixth place in New Hampshireâs primary. But his backing of Mr. Trump comes after weeks of him saying that it was time for the âentertainmentâ portion of the race to end, and as he had said that the type of executive leadership that a governor has is important.

Election heading for Twilight Zone territory...
Iâm sorry, but...this gives me grounds to reconsider and give Ted Cruz another look-see.
That’s a great idea given that Cruz is now shacking up with Marco Amnestio. Birds of a feather, flock together.
You are pretty insulting yourself. lol
If you have noticed, I haven’t said a word either way about his endorsement today.
Endorsements mean nothing to me, I am not a follower.
Glenn Beck - nut job, doesn’t that make Cruz a nut job too? You people are pathetic. Anyone who endorses Trump is trashed on here and anyone who endorses Cruz is heralded. What a bunch of little kids you all are.
Actually, that is not a bad idea, at all!
“Trump has a say who endorses him? Too funny.”
Trump is standing next to Christie in the photo-op, is he not? Or is this just another case like that of Christie himself lending his presence to Obama for a photo-op? Of course, that too implied nothing, right? What were you saying about Christie at that time? Too funny.
Trump is a natural born Citizen of the United States of America. Protect and Defend the Constitution!
AMEN!
“Wants VP consideration?”
Attorney general would be more like it. I think Newt would be a better fit for VP for a number of reasons.
WOW.... this was not expected. Although I was not a fan of Christy, I love that he took down the establishment darling Robio and showing that he was just a talking point machine. That alone merits the AG spot in his administration.
If he names Christie as his VP, yeah, probably. For my part, I could hold my nose long enough to vote for Trump this fall, but if he blows the VP pick on a mega RINO like Christie, that would probably be the last straw for me.
This is a fantastic endorsement!! My mother just called my uncle in South Carolina, (we live in North Carolina) so we are super excited! Chris Christie is well-liked in my family, we love how he goes after the liberals. By the way, the press conference was great. :-)
GO TRUMP!!!
Kind of like how the republicans in the last two elections stated if we voted for them, they'd repeal Obamacare.
The kicker was last December when they gave everything to Obama and Planned Parenthood.
Basically, you're saying that status quo would be better than Trump....and status quo means nothing will change with the direction of our Country.
Respectfully disagree.
Yep, that’s what I’m thinking too. I think Christie would be an excellent AG.
No biggie(except for the size of Gov ObamaHugger). If anything the Guv is an opportunist and this my friends is opportunity.
Exactly....had it for a while and then JUST before the big weekend and after a debate where Cruz and Rubio are patting themselves on their backs...BOOM!
Yep, she would be the queen around here again.
I mentioned some time ago, we should have a "Fickle FReeper Award" we have a lot of contestant here.
He won’t name that pick until he has the nomination. So that means you’d have to do like some of us and not vote at all in the general.
