The networks like the entertainment value of an audience. But the standing rules for these debates should be no audiences or if there are audiences the rule should be absolute silence.These are debates not rallies and the noise is distracting and annoying.

I couldn’t agree more. I listened to the debate by radio, which, to me, amplified the annoying audience antics. It made me nostalgic for the days of Jim Lehrer sternly warning the audience against any sound whatsoever.
