Leno criticized Reagan for publicly ignoring the AIDS crisis in the early 1980s as thousands, mostly young gay men, died from the virus: "This is not my definition of advancing the public good."

They died because of lifestyle choices not because of who was President. How about the current President allowing AIDS infected immigrants to come to our country?

If they'd shut down the 'glory holes' and 'bathhouses' in SF, that would go a long ways in stopping the spread of AIDS.

Biggest lie ever. Reagan and Bush threw money at aids. AIDS is the only virus that has a cure, but no thanks to the government. If fact, the government "research" on how the virus behaved in the human body was totally inaccurate and hampered effective treatment.

If you want to know who cured AIDS, it was Magic Johnson's Doctor. He threw out conventional wisdom on the virus's behavior and its "evolution" to drug resistance. He mathematically calculated that drug "cocktail" would be effective because he understood how the virus truly attacked the human immune system and how it fought the conventional drug therapy.

The funniest thing the moonbat left has claimed for over 30 years is how a Conservative President would’ve been able to magically stop sodomite hedonists from having sex (and hence, AIDS).

Leno must be taking his “facts” from Larry Kramer and his logic from...well, I just don’t know where. What a clown.

BTW, the CDC’s own numbers point out that HIV infection rates for young gay/bi men today are at some of the highest levels ever. Meaning 30+ years after AIDS became publicly known, the HIV virus is still being spread like wildfire in the gay community. Is Mark Leno going to blame President Reagan for that, too?

Okay smarty, he had/has HIV, the virus that cause aids. There are experts that say that one can go off the Drug cocktail once the humane immune system overcomes the HIV virus. Magic is somewhat aloof whether he continue to take the drug cocktail. I think he is not because one of the drugs is pretty toxic and taking it for 25 years would alone cause death. The term is functionally cured.
