We use a lot of orbital and HE ionosphere assets now. Analysis of computer data is far beyond what it was even in the 90's. Temperature, wakes, sound, EM spectrum, all produce pretty accurate tracking results, AFAIK. I'd tell you more, but then I'd have to kill myself.
