The Alfa was a death trap and never very effective.

It was fast to be sure...but I doubt that Russia will ever resurrect it.

The people in Russia talk all the time about this that and the other...about resurrecting by gone systems.

But the reality is that they have a hard time putting out new frigates on a consistent basis.

Their current SSN, the Yasen class is definitely a very decent design...I simply do not see them splitting costs to resurrect this vessel...it would cut deeply into their ability to produce the Yasen subs...which are being produced at a glacial speed as it is.

A lot of chatter about the Russians developing this or that groundbreaking weapons systems lately. Sounds like agitprop to me but I’m no authority.
