I watched the post debate interview and Cruz did NOT say a word about endorsing any other candidate.
What he did say, which does come as a surprise, is that he thinks Rubio would be a better president and a better candidate than Trump.
Cruz also said specifically that he thinks his campaign is the only one that has a chance at beating Trump. He said he expects to win Texas big, and that Rubio does not look like he can beat Trump in Florida (Rubio’s own state).
So I think your takeaway is misleading.
It does look like the odds of a Trump-Cruz team is becoming highly unlikely though.
I was watching the post debate interviews of Trump and then Cruz. After that I switched over to the Rockets game, come back here and see this thread. I thought Cruz had said something else or some other news came out. Nope just the same interview I had watched. A lot of hyperventilating over nothing if you ask me.
I actually thought Trump’s assertion that he might be audited every year because he’s a strong Christian and incredulous response to Vicente Fox’s cursing were more news worthy.
The headline uses “will endorse” not “endorsed”.
Not much else can be implied by what Cruz said.
