I personally thought Cruz and even Rubio came out with better answers than Trump and drew blood against Trump.
Trump’s admission of wanting “the good ones” to get citizenship after leaving is a problem with me.

then his answers tonight must’ve helped - they’d have to get in line behind those already there, the process might take a ling time, only some would get to come back.
Cruz and Rubio took Trump down tonight, now that won’t change the cult of Trump, but Trump was stomped.
Unless there is a change made to immigration law, those deported can apply to return legally no matter who is President. When our immigration laws were enforced that was used as a carrot to get most illegals to self deport or agree with immediate deportation when apprehended instead of clogging our court system. Illegals that have to be forcibly removed are not usually eligible to return legally, that is the stick.
If Trump or anyone else implements a plan to deport all the illegals here now the carrot of being eligible to return legally will become very important. If there is no incentive to agree to being deported most or all will demand their day in court and the courts will back up and the process will drag on forever and likely not happen.
Just being eligible to apply to come back legally does not mean they will all qualify.
