Thank you for the sanity of your post. These are my sentiments exactly. I was incredulous that the candidate who went to the Senate and did what he promised the voters he'd do (incurring and withstanding the wrath of the establishment, I might add) was being trashed and the profane, flip-floppy reality star was being hailed in the same manner Obama was in '08. I was convinced I was being punked.
You spoke the truth when you identified the tactics as those of Saul Alinsky. We've become what we detested.
Regarding that weird story Trump was selling as to why he had his pro-life epiphany, it was a convenient one but not believable. I almost couldn't believe my ears when he said, "Friends of mine years ago were going to have a child, and it was going to be aborted. And it wasn't aborted. And that child today is a total superstar, a great, great child. And I saw that. And I saw other instances." My antennae went up, and apparently I'm not the only one. Another individual expressed it much better than I could:
...I find it difficult to cheer Trump's conversion, because the reason he gives for being pro-life doesn't correspond to the pro-life ethic. Trump says he is pro-life because of a "superstar" child who could have been aborted.
Consider how he responded to a reporter who wondered if he would have become pro-life had the child been a "loser": "Probably not, but I've never thought of it. I would say no, but in this case it was an easy one because he's such an outstanding person."
To summarize Trump's view: "I'm pro-life because we shouldn't abort fetuses that may grow up to be outstanding people."
But opponents of abortion take a different position: "I'm pro-life because we shouldn't kill innocent human beings, no matter who they might grow up to be."
Trump's reason for being pro-life depends on the potential outcome of the child in the womb, rather than the fact that there is a child in the womb. But the pro-life ethic is grounded in the inherent worth of all humanity. It is wrong to commit violence against innocent human beings. Full stop.
And that's where, ironically, Trump's position sounds similar to the pro-choice idea that the human fetus is "potential life" or that the value of the unborn depends on whether or not the child is "wanted."....
Too bad none of his enablers, e.g., Hannity, Doocy, Kilmeade, Limbaugh, etc., have the huevos to insist that Trump expand his explanation to resolve the inconsistencies.
BTW, the middle finger/patron saint explanation is a classic! I'm probably going to need steal it at some point. I'll try to remember to give you due attribution. :)

26 states in the first 15 days of March.
Maine changed its process to have larger caucus sites, rather than each town holding a local caucus.
All on the 5th.
In retrospect, it will seem boring.
Trump takes Illini?

The only chance the GOPe has is Rule 40. That’s the only thing that can stop Trump. Or some violent thing.
I like Cruz and he would be a good Attorney Gen. for sure. Its a shame, I was all for Cruz but Trump showed up and started hitting home runs in every game while Cruz was still limited by political correctness and thus was getting on base a lot.
