Kasich is pro-amnesty. He also expanded Medicaid as part of Obamacare. He is firmly part of the GOPe. His only real plus is being governor of Ohio, which the Reps cannot lose if they want to take the WH.
I think he is flexible, and would follow the lead of the top of the ticket, which they all eventually do.
I don’t think he is as much a member of the establishment as some people claim. With an accomplished governor like him available, why didn’t the establishment flock to Kasich after New Hampshire, and instead go with Rubio? I think the establishment doesn’t like Kasich because he, like Trump, has a real populist streak and cares about the working class voters that are key in this election.
And if one is worried about conservative purity on healthcare policy, one wouldn’t want Donald Trump at the top of the ticket. All of these guys have flaws. But hey, don’t worry about my opinion, nobody of importance has my number on speed-dial! :-)
