My guess here is he knows it’s over - internals are crushing - must win Texas to save face and stay electable in the Senate..
That would be a tough run in 18 if he lost his home state.. Some young gun would jump on that loss and run against him..
I don’t want to see Cruz lose his Senate seat. I hope he’s not damaging himself politically to that extent.
