Ted Cruz has a double-digit lead over Donald Trump in Texas, according to the results of a new poll of likely Republican primary voters released Wednesday by Houston Public Media and the University of Houston Hobby Center for Public Policy.
The Texas senator has 35 percent of likely Republican primary voters in the state, followed by Trump's 20 percent. All other candidates are in single digits...

Yet in two minutes Chris Christy destroyed Rubio.
Cruz can't lay a glove on him? Why
Cruz is polling 35% in his home state?
Not good (for him).
Most people are still undecided.
Instead he will probably win the most delegates in his home state, and then quit.
These days the Supreme Court has more power than the executive branch in many ways. I would trust Cruz to be a constitutionalist, but don’t know why the people on Free Republic who have adopted Trump’s hate for the man, would think he would even consider him for the court. Personally I see him choosing Opera.
I’m sure some prolonged nasal bleating from the spaghetti armed clark will take the luster off this promise.
Well, this site says:
“The poll of 415 likely Republican primary voters in Texas was conducted by telephone from Feb. 12-22. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.8 percentage points. “
But as I noted on the other thread, the polling website indicates that it was a collection of republicans, all voters in a general election, and all registered voters.
” with two samples of eligible voters by the University of Houston Hobby Center for Public Policy’s Survey Research Center. The first sample (N=315) included registered voters who voted in one of three elections including the 2008, 2012 Republican Primary election and the 2015 General election. The second sample (N=100) included all other registered voters (i.e. those who did not vote in two or more of the selected elections). Results are reported for the combined samples. “

Looks like Politico might have read a press release instead of what the pollers actually said.

I haven’t voted yet, I’ll go on Tuesday.
I have a pretty good feeling about how Ted does on home turf. There are a lot of Trump supporters on the Texas board but it appears to me they are outnumbered. A lot of people here do not like the New Yucker.
Still can’t get over him not getting squat out of SC. Some people say he is “unlikeable” but they’ve been told to feel that way. People here love Ted, mostly. He’s the only true Constitutional Conservative on the ballot and I really think that will show on Tuesday, at least in Texas.
HOORAY Cruz
“I thought Cruz was the 150 IQ and debate Champion.”
I keep reading that. That is pretty much middle of the pack in law schools. It isn’t very impressive in context. The ramshackle campaign sort of underscores the relative mediocrity.
Cruzing to a clean sweep on Super Tuesday!
If Cruz can’t win Texas, he’s done. Same thing with Kasich in OH and Rubio in FL.
But while these guys might (might) win their home states, they don’t seem to be making headway anywhere else.
What an amazing victory it would be to see Ted win a Second State!!!!!
Where did you find that?
“Personally I see him choosing Opera.”
I picture Trump more as a pop rock kind of guy. Opera is a bit too slow to develop and intricate for his tastes I think.
Cruz at 35% and Trump at 20% with some 19% undecided.
Texas allocates the delegates proportionally by Congressional District and Statewide.
3 per each of the 36 CDs, 50%+ gets all, otherwise allocated
47 based upon statewide performance, Majority wins all otherwise allocated
108 CD
047 Statewide
155 Total
It’s a little more detail than outlined above. Click the following link for details.

Against Hillary only Cruz or Trump have a chance. Both Kasich and Rubio will apologize to her for existing. Except that Rubio will apologize repeatedly.
Justin Bieber should know a lot about the law these days. Can a Canadian be a justice? How about Al Franken? I’m sure Trump is a big fan, New York connection and all.
