I agree, though, that he needs to halt all the smack-down talk about the other candidates in the GOP field. At some point, if he is the nominee, he has to unite the party behind him. He is going to have to mend some fences, and going scorched-earth on all the other candidates is really unnecessary.
This is part of what is wrong with Politics.... in the real world you take your lumps, and move on. There is no time for petty jealousy and ego when there is work to be done, you have to swallow your pride and move on.
Politics you don’t, which is insane.
I don’t have to like someone to work with them for a common goal, I’ve had to work with folks I personally hate, and that have wronged me in the past, yet when it came to doing the job, I did what I was supposed to do, didn’t act like a little kid whining that I don’t like this person or they wronged me in the past.
If folks are going to hold grudges, that’s on them. Politics is blood sport, not romper room. If you can’t deal with losing or having your feelings hurt, then go back to preschool.
I am not worried, the Party will either come to its senses, or completely collapse.... either way, its a better result long term, even if it means short term chaos. The days of the NEOCON, Free Trade, Open Border, Stalwarts is over... if the party can’t accept or adapt to that reality, it deserves to die.
