Now that Donald Trump has wiped the floor yet again with the other Republican candidates in the Nevada caucuses, it's time for the GOP to face reality -- barring force majeure, they have a presidential candidate, like it or not.
The so-called establishment has a choice: Get on the Trump bandwagon or try some desperate maneuver to stop him. But what would that be? A Rubio-Cruz ticket, assuming they would do it? At the time of this writing, the two men added together don't equal the Trump vote in Nevada -- and that's even assuming their voters would hold, which is a risky assumption, given the current momentum. I mean -- Donald won 46% of the Hispanics! Enough already.

I don’t know guys. I’m just not quite there yet.
I’ll be there for you in November. Make no mistake.
I will vote for the proverbial Dead Dog in the Middle of the Street...
And, BTW... Any attempted maneuver to get Cruz voters to go to Rubio will not work. No way, no how. They will just go to Donald Trump.
The reason they liked Cruz in the first place was because he was actively against the Republican Establishment. Any back-room deal that tries to get them to move them in the Establishment direction will fail spectacularly.
At the moment, Trump appears to be the only one on our side with a solid chance of keeping Hillary or Bernie out of the WH - we can accept it and make it so or we can throw another one in a little girl hissy fit and claim “principles or we can ride into ownership of the WH and maybe have some substantial and real shaking up of the RNC and the rest of the traitorous establishment - it’s what we claim to want but our actions say it’s a lie.....
Any backroom deal will cause this voter to never vote republican again. I’ll write my name in if it comes to it. Frapster for president.
Anti-Trump are running on fear. They fear Trump won’t do the things he promise he will do. What if he will? Will you still be afraid?
Amazing what happened when the nominating process was taken out of the hands of party bosses and left to the people.
I would disagree with you to an extent.
It does appear that Donald Trump is the only one on our side with a solid chance of winning the Republican Primary. But any Republican in the race would have a chance to beat Hillary or Bernie, if they were able to win the Republican nomination in a fair and open process.
But if my Grandmother had wheels, she would be a bicycle.
Barring some massive upset, Donald Trump is going to win the Republican nomination. I am not saying we have to get behind the frontrunner, or anything stupid like that. People should vote for whomever they want. But at the end of the day, we all have to be singing from the same hymnal.
The only way we can screw this up is by defeating the primary process and pissing off a large portion of our electorate. We cannot let that happen.
HOLY HEDGE FUND! Jeb-You/re-Next spent over $125 million on his failed campaign? The GOPe must be choking on the chilled Cristal, Oestra caviar, and stuffed lobster in the country club Grill Room.
==========================================
IMHO, the ignominious collapse of Jeb-You/re-Next drove a huge stake into the heart of the establishment GOPe. Forget erectile dysfunction. The fallout of being politically castrated is devastating to a powermonger.
The GOPe/s de-b***ing began when candidate Jeb said he didn't need the Republican base .... and proceeded to carry on, business as usual, as his numbers sunk into oblivion.
Jeb telling a key bloc of Republican voters to take a hike is the consequence of the country club GOPe demeaning and dismissing conservatives as not being worthy of their elite party.
The entitled Jeb-You/re-Next took it as Gospel when he heard the Bush elders condescending attitude towards conservatives....people to whom the aristocratic Bush/s feel socially superior.
But the GOPe should know this: they will get no pity from conservatives for their woes......and we aim to stick their noses in the mess they made every frickin chance we get.
It will depend upon the delegate totals. If Trump can't win the nomination outright, and Cruz/Rubio delegates total the number necessary, then it could happen. But I fear the scorched earth tactics of the Trumpsters.
I don’t know if they are afraid Trump won’t do the things he says he will do or that he will do the things he says he will do.
THIS IS THE SAME THING REAGAN WENT THROUGH!
Let’s hope the results are the same
It's not the end you should be worrying about, it's the means.
Proverbially, there is still plenty of time to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Amen to Republicans supporting Trump! That is the only thing about the Dems I’ve ever envied. When they see a person who is winning EVERYWHERE and is attracting HUGE crowds like a rock star, they get behind that person and ride the wave!!!
They will find something they can like about that rock star and run with it, defend them to the ends of the earth, to sway more people over to their side. Democrats understand “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”.
After all folks, it is all about us winning in November and not Hillary!!!
Apparently, you can't stop it.
Fear, mistrust, and loathing are not the same things. In that order I fear we have lost God’s favor, I mistrust Donald Trump at a gut level, and I loath Democrats. If Trump is the nominee come November a leap of faith may overcome my fear and mistrust. The loathing offers me no alternative.
I think McConnell and Ryan are flirting with this idea when they proclaim a determination not to approve any Obama Supreme Court nominee. The Trump Effect has already jolted them.
But if these clowns were smart enough to recognize the true nature of the Trump Effect in its inception, they wouldn't have been RINOs in the first place.
Cruz, Rubio, et al should continue to take their best shots. Trump will need the practice, because it is not going to be Tiddlywinks in the Fall, I can guaran-GD-tee. But at the end of the day, somebody is going to have the most delegates at the Convention, and that is going to be Our Guy. Right now, it is looking that that guy is almost certain to be Donald Trump.
By the way, what is Donald Trump's middle initial? A proper candidate needs a middle initial...
“The Republican Establishment Needs to Stop Worrying and Love the Donald”
In a nut shell, that means that the Republican Establishment needs to start listening to the American people instead of their political “in crowd.” They’ve lost touch with ordinary Americans completely.
