Trump did nothing of the sort; he never said Cruz had dropped out as a candidate.

Trump has done nothing but lie for three months. He’ decided his campaign is not an effort to win followers but to destroy anyone who doesn’t agree with him on everything. He just repeats a series of lies or left-wing attacks on each conservative opponent. He did it to Walker, repeating BS about the Wisconsin economic recovery. He’s done it to Cruz. He’s starting on Rubio. He takes whatever attack has been used on a guy and cranks it up to 11. He attacked Jeb from the right. Cruz from the left. Same tactics in each case.
